Abstract | Privacy protection is becoming an increasingly important topic. An examination of the current laws and regulations on privacy protection shows that China lacks a consistent and comprehensive legal framework for privacy protection. We have witnessed growing concerns over the right to privacy, especially in the context of cyberspace. The efforts in enacting a data protection law in the last few years did not lead to any formal results. Thus, it is necessary to study the current situation in China and put forward possible ways to enhance the legal regime for the protection of online privacy in China. |
