AbstractINTRODUCTION: Endemic skeletal fluorosis due to drinking of water containing high concentration of fluoride is common in Asian population and results in ossification of ligaments. Ligament flavum (LF) ossification results in neurological complications. Present study aims at histopathological analysis of the ossified ligamentum flavum (OLF). Methods: 10 OLF specimens, five degenerative LF and five normal LF were studied with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E), Verhoff’s van Gieson (VvG), Toluidine blue (TB), Masons trichrome (MT) and Alcian Blue (AB) staining.
