Professionalism And Competency: Hong Kong's Model Of Establishing The Profession Of Landscape Architecture

Abstract

In the rapid changing society of China since the end of 20th century, the profession of landscape architecture is experiencing a fast and tremendous transformation. The authors want to discuss how to establish legal status and professionalism and draw up professional moral and behavioral norms within the professionalization process of landscape architectural practice and education, and assure that the curriculum and teaching models in the professional education are practical and can realize the progress of landscape architecture discipline in academic and knowledge systems. Taking Hong Kong as example, the authors introduced how to regulate the professional practice by the code of professional conduct of HKILA, and other related ordinances, and how to improve the profession’s competence by accreditation and professional practice examination.

自20世紀末以來,我國內地的風景園林行業正在經歷著快速和深遠的專業化變革。試圖探討在風景園林行業和風景園林教育的專業化進程中如何逐步確立行業的專業地位和專業精神,制訂專業操守和行為準則,并保證專業教育中的課程設置和教學模式既務實,又能實現風景園林學科在學術和知識體系上的進步。以香港為例,說明了行業競爭力和專業精神之間的關系,以及如何通過制訂園境師專業操守、教學評估制度和園境師注冊考試制度,加強行業規范,提升行業的國際競爭力。
