AbstractINTRODUCTION: Lung cancer is the top cancer killer. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) represents the second most common histological subtype of lung cancer. Arsenic trioxide (ATO) has been demonstrated to inhibit tumour growth in lung adenocarcinoma and initiate apoptosis in acute promyelocytic leukaemia.
