An Emendation to the 2nd edition of Hanyu Da Zidian

Abstract

The 2nd edition of Hanyu Da Zidian, also known as The Grand Chinese Dictionary, has made some significant revisions on such aspects as definitions, pronunciations, documentary evidences and retrieval of characters. Yet, errors are still found in the dictionary. This paper points out and analyzes several erroneous definitions in the dictionary, and provides suggestions for emendations.

2010年出版的漢語大字典在糾誤、收字、統一字形等問題上，對初版進行了修訂, 並吸收了近年語言文字學, 辭書學的研究成果, 在註音, 釋義, 列舉書證以至檢索等諸方面, 作出了不少改進. 然而, 漢語大字典收字兼及古今, 卷帙浩繁，而且成於眾手, 第二版雖經修訂，仍然存在不同方面的疏誤。本文指出漢語大字典第二版對“厲”, “匡”, “共”, “仵”, “假”, “匕”等字在釋義上的若干問題，並略陳管見，希望能對他日的修訂略有補益。
