AbstractThis project seeks to understand the way of urban renewal of Hong Kong. If Hong Kong city can be thought as a miscellaneously space without time sense, the disappeared space could be a way to know about the city itself culture and identification. At previous time, for city revitalization, lots heritage were simply demolished and transformed to homogenizing compositions. As a tool of presentation, City Park was embedded in site with picked monuments from original disappeared place. In this way, the city park acts as a whitewash role to promote the disappearance for administration. While, the thesis project aims to reconsider about the heritage revitalization process. If the relationship between vertical construction space and flat ground be modified, could the heritage left its form and adaptive to the new functional update? As the result of this this assumption, heritage gradually transformed to be a part of city open space. With this concept, the project develops an comparing analysis and experimental design about how to presenting disappearance for Hong Kong city.
