Abstract | Phosphine exchange occurs rapidly between RuCl2(PPh3)n (n = 3, 4) and Ru(C5H4PPh2)2 (dppr) at room temperature to give RuCl2(dppr)(PPh3), 1. Triphenylphosphine is more substitutionally labile than dppr in 1; selective phosphine substitution of 1 with CO and CH3CN gives [RuCl2(CO)(dppr)] and two geometric isomers of [RuCl2(NCCH3)2(dppr)] respectively. |
