AbstractThis research aims to examine racial discrimination against ethnic minority groups in Hong Kong. It focuses on different generations, especially on adults and the elderly in order to provide a detailed picture of what they have experienced and how they respond to it. Primary research is adopted and data are collected through semi-structured interviews and existing literature analysis. Everyday racism has been used as the conceptual framework throughout this research. Minority groups experience racial discrimination routinely in their everyday lives This study also explores their perceptions and experiences about racial discrimination, and the changes from the 90s till now. Furthermore, it also summarizes researchers’ definition of the term of ‘racial discrimination’ because it is crucial to understand the term from different angles and perspectives.
