AbstractAquaticola hyalomura gen. et sp. novo and A. ellipsoidea sp. novo are described based on specimens found on submerged wood collected in streams and a reservoir in Hong Kong. Aquaticola species are similar to members of Annulatascus, but differ in having smaller ascal apical rings, and overlapping uniseriate to biseriate ascospores that are also smaller in size. Aquaticola is compared with genera of Annulatascaceae and other similar genera.
