Abstract© Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2010 and Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.Triple arthrodesis involved the subtalar, talonavicular and calcaneocuboid joints. It is commonly used as a salvage procedure for hindfoot end-stage osteoarthrosis and deformity. Traditionally, it is an open procedure that involves extensive soft tissue dissection in order to expose the joints. However there are several well-known difficulties and complications associated with the open approach, such as skin necrosis and non-union. With the evolving arthroscopic technique, arthroscopic triple fusion is a valid alternative to open procedures providing the potential benefit of better visualization to improve the joint preparation and fusion rate. Additional soft tissue procedure can be added in case of foot deformity correction. This article aims at reviewing the clinical indications, technical details, outcomes and potential complications of arthroscopic triple arthrodesis.
