Colour tuneable LEDs and pixelated micro-LED arrays. In Huang, JJ ; Kuo, HC & Shen, SC (Eds.), Nitride Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs): materials, technologies, and applications (2nd ed.), p. 415-439. Duxford, UK: Woodhead Publishing, 2018 How to Cite?
AbstractLight-emitting diodes (LEDs) are inherently monochromatic light sources. However, owing to their miniature footprints, color mixing using these devices is much more feasible compared to conventional light sources, which are many times larger in dimensions. The ability to mix colors offers the capability of color-tuning in real time and without the use of color filters. Two types of color-tuneable LEDs are described in this chapter: the red-green-blue stacked LED suitable for high-power applications, and the group-addressable micro-LED with jet-printed red-green blue micropixels, suitable for monolithic integrations. © 2018 Elsevier Ltd All rights reserved.
