Abstract | Based on a simple model of structural phase model and tight-binding approximation, we calculated the density of sates (DOS) of underdoped YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-δ by real-space recursion method. It is found that the partial DOS for Cu and O sites increases obviously due to the occurrence of structural stripe phase separation in underdoped YBCO. This suggests that the structural stripe is unstable in energy. This conclusion is in agreement with the fact that no obvious structural stripe phase separation is observed in underdoped YBCO. © 2000 Elsevier Science B.V All rights reserved. |
