Abstract | Three zinc carboxylate complexes, [(C6F5Zn)4Zn(Ar1)6]•1.5toluene, [(C6F5Zn)4Zn(Ar2)6] •2toluene, and [(Ar3)6Zn4(μ4-O)] •MeCN (where Ar1= 2-chlorobenzoic acid (1), Ar2= 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoic acid (2), and Ar3= 3-dimethylaminobenzoic acid (3)), have been prepared from the reaction of (C6F5)2Zn•toluene and the corresponding functionalized benzoic acid. Complexes 1-3 were structurally characterized and screened for hydrogen absorption (uptake <0.3 wt %). © 2010 American Chemical Society. |
