Abstract近现代中外关系史,就其地缘政治和国际关系角度来说,顾名思义当属'跨国史'(transnational history)及'共有的历史'(shared history)范畴。因为这部历史本身就是一部中国人和外国人共同参与(无论是正面抑或负面)的历史,深受国际和国内各种综合因素的影响和制约。尽管这是一个不争的事实,但遍观国内外近现代中外关系史著作,似乎很少有人从科学角度通过'跨国史'及'共有的历史'的视野来研究。几年前我曾先后就方法论问题发表过文章,呼吁史学界重视两个方法的重要性
