| Abstract | The evolving cultural connectivity of the Pearl River Delta sets a multi-dimensional scene to the words of cultural heritage. As the region has undergone drastic changes upon the Open-door policy of China, the cultural roots still uphold an unbroken resilience among the urban clusters including Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou and the surrounding cities. The original cultural connections in the past disconnected and now reconnected due to the emergence of new infrastructure and economic ties in recently years are yet to be examined. Given the complexities in political shifts in the last century of the region, the new strategy of 'one-belt-one-road' is inspiring new momentum towards the future. Maybe it is time to critically examine the possibilities and potentials of the Pearl River Delta in new terms of cultural heritage. |
