Abstract | We investigated the cell protection effect of disaccharide sugars in unilamella vesicles (ULVs) on freeze-thaw treatment by using photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS). As the number of freezethaw treatments increased, the sizes of vesicles that contained only water increased. On the other hand, the sizes of vesicles that contained disaccharides were almost constant. Therefore, we conclude that disaccharides have a cell protection ability under freeze-thaw treatment. |
