AbstractTo clarify the substrate specificity of the recombinant styrene oxide isomerase, various epoxides were subjected to the reaction. From the substituent effect on the rate of isomerization, the mechanism of the isomerase catalyzed reaction was estimated. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
