AbstractHeart failure is an important public health problem worldwide. The fatal,progressively deteriorating nature of this disease, together with its debilitating symptoms,lead to poor psychosocial adjustment among the sufferers. High level of negativeemotions has been reported by this vulnerable group of patients, and resulted in multipledeleterious effects on their health outcomes. A body of knowledge in psychosomaticmedicine has indicated the effects of stress management techniques on clinical and healthoutcomes of cardiovascular patients, more attention need to be given to its application toheart failure management. © 2008 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
