AbstractHong Kong's history is complex in terms of migratory flows, military conflicts and colonization processes. This, together with its status as one of the world's largest trading economies makes this Special Administrative Region a global multilingual city where a wide variety of languages is heard on a daily basis. The increase in Spanish-speaking residents in Hong Kong has coincided with a growing interest in learning Spanish within the local society.
