AbstractThis study is about “The Impact of Building Design on Residential Housing Management and the Residents Satisfaction” The purpose of this study and analysis of building designs and the impact on the residents will be shown as follows. The study also explores the roles of housing management when it comes to building design. The study broadly explores the various ways in which the building designs affect the levels of satisfaction of the residents and the management of the buildings. This study brings out more clarity because of building design and the impacts it has on residential housing management as well as residents’ satisfaction. However, according to various previous studies done, it has come out very clear that building design has both physical and mental effects on residents as well as the management because of the thermal effect on the environment. There are a number of factors that contribute to the effects of building design. These factors include, the height of the building, the density of the building, the layout and the green ratio of the building as well. The above mentioned four factors are the major areas of concern that need to be addressed in order to curb the effects. Accordingly many researchers have been dwelling on the mentioned factors. This includes the use of a three dimensional climate model that has been widely used to analyze the above factors. An example of the study area that employed the use of the model includes Nanjing City. Three dimensional climate model in study majorly aims at identification of the climate advantages, identification of micro-climate processes and its impacts and to analyze the effects of possible solutions of human life in terms of comfort, thermal, stress and mortality in relation with the building design. Based on the above mentioned factors of building design, this paper aims at conducting research that critically identifies and analyzes the effects. This is achieved through the use of tools such as questionnaires after which the responses are analyzed in order to come up with recommendations, possible solutions and provide a platform for future research.
