Abstract | The Nanxiong Basin is located at the junction of northern Guangdong and
southwestern Jiangxi. It is an irregularly striped and semi-graben pan-shaped rift
basin formed since the Late Cretaceous in NE-SW. Zhang fault depression red
bed basin. This article comprehensively discusses and summarizes the regional
geological background, geological genesis, tectonic-sedimentary evolution and
red bed topography of the Nanxiong Basin.
According to the relative age, make a comparison of the dinosaur egg fauna of
the Cretaceous Basin in China reveals that four consecutive dinosaur egg
assemblages have different geological ages, and the strata of the corresponding
basins together provide a framework for explaining the continental redness of the
Cretaceous. Through further research, it should be possible to establish a
continuous Cretaceous dinosaur egg combination, including China's Early
Cretaceous dinosaur eggs and Late Cretaceous dinosaur eggs.
