AbstractThis paper reviews the results of experiments carried out within a wide range of Reynolds numbers:The National Research center of Canada (NRCC) experiments and the Stonecutters Bridge experiments. The model employs a standard k-ε turbulence model with a boundary layer. The simulation results of static coefficients fit well with the experiments. Furthermore, the influence of Reynolds number, turbulence intensity of inlet flow and the slot width of central-slotted box girder section are investigated respectively. Results show that the Reynolds number and slot width are related with drag coefficients, but exert minor influence on lift coefficients and moment coefficients. The turbulence intensity has minor effects on steady force coefficients.
