AbstractCompared with polymers, rigid macromolecules possess more two-dimensional shapes and contain pockets of rather well-defined dimensions. A hyperbranched polymer that exhibits an appropriate degree of branching was synthesized. The resultant polymer is more efficient at breaking up nanotube bundles, provided it is employed at higher polymer-to-nanotube ratios than was the "parent" PmPV polymer.
