Abstract | The electron transport properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCN) between metal contacts were investigated. The electron transport data suggested that the suspended SWNTs with suspended length L<1μm seem to have clean transport signatures over wide energy ranges and magnetic fields. The high quality suspended quasi-metallic SWCNs were found to show a systematic trend in conductance level versus SWNT bandgap. A suspended metallic SWNT with L∼2 μm showing little gate dependence from room temperature down to 120 K was found to be accompanied by a meal-like increase in conductance at lower T. |
