Abstract | The paper aims at investigating the relationship between economic growth and pollution emission by adopting the data of waste water discharge in China during a timeframe of 28 years, Taking Eco-efficiency analysis, the result show that Chinese sky-rocketing economic development highly improved the eco-efficiency of waste water, which take more than 10 times improvement in Eco-efficiency, and there haven't any environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) exists through time series. The study provides deeper insights into the causes of ecoefficiency soaring, and gives further implications on this phenomenon. In the article, we also discuss the advantages and disadvantages for using eco-efficiency analysis as tools to judgment environmental condition. © 2011 IEEE. |
