Abstract | We have developed a two step solution phase method to selectively synthesize nanocrystals of oxide and hydroxide on graphene sheets. The morphology and size of the nanocrystals grown on graphene can be readily tuned by synthetic parameters. The hybrid nanomaterials showed high electrochemical performance for supercapacitors and lithium ion batteries, as a result of the intimate interactions between the active materials and the highly conducting graphene network, and the desired morphology and size of the nanocrysstals on graphene. |
