AbstractAim to explore whether parents joining in mindfulness group intervention has a great impact on social deficits in ASD children. After 8 weeks of mindfulness intervention in parents with ASD children, the experimenter asked 17 typically developing children and 21 ASD children to engage in games with stranger adults in a naturalistic social situation to investigate the neurobiological differences between them. fNIRS was used to measure brain activation and interpersonal neural synchronization levels in prefrontal, temporal, and parietal areas during resting state, individual play, and dyadic play. It was found that mindfulness intervention in parents had a significant impact on the level of interpersonal neural synchronization in the children. When ASD children engage in social interaction situations, their frontal lobe and temporal lobe of the brain showed different degrees of improvement in brain activation levels. This research represents a significant advancement in understanding the neural mechanisms underlying social deficits in children with autism spectrum disorders and provides valuable insights for the diagnosis and intervention of ASD.
