| Abstract | This dissertation explores the urban housing affordability issue of Hong Kong and Taiwan. Urban housing affordability has been a serious issue in these two regions, both governments have been working on it with implementation of numerous of housing policies. This paper identifies the challenges faced by the two regions, followed with an in-depth interview with residents from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Through the interview, data and opinions were obtained for in-depth analysis of interviewees’ stance and opinions towards the housing policies implemented in the two regions and suggestions are given as an insight for future implementation of housing policies of Hong Kong and Taiwan.
