| Abstract | This timely study examines the role of public management in protecting social equity from emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The authors measured the readiness and preparedness of AI strategies in North America, Europe, and Asia using intergovernmental policy data on AI-specific issues. The study uses qualitative content analysis to identify discourse related to AI-public management and social equity in policy documents. The authors conclude that public managers will need to develop strategies to incorporate AI into human services practices. They also advocate for training public employees to use AI to augment their services. |
