AbstractIn view of the development characteristics and core objectives of digitalization in the construction industry, this paper elaborates on the key management modes and methods of material management in the construction industry, it systematically studies and discusses the impact of key control measures of material management, the complementarity between control measures and digitalization, as well as the complementarity between various control measures. This enables the digitalization of material management can match the refined management methods of enterprises to maximize the cost benefits of enterprises and support construction enterprises in achieving synergy. This paper summarizes project management implementation strategies tailored to the characteristics of China's construction industry, allowing companies to achieve good implementation benefits during the process of transitioning to refined project management. The feasibility and practical value of the methods proposed in this paper are verified in practice. The main work of the dissertation includes: Chapter 1 summarizes the development and evolution of the construction industry and the status of digital application of construction enterprises, analyzes the background and foundation of digitalization in the construction industry, expounds the difficulties and challenges faced by the digitalization of construction enterprises in actual construction projects, and summarizes the research significance and research content of this paper. Chapter 2 summarizes the development process of digital transformation through literature review, expert interviews, on-site surveys, etc., it expounds the project management methods of construction enterprises and discusses the principle of complementarity of organizational economic decision-making and the complementarity between management methods and digital transformation. Chapter 3 focuses on the impact of the digitalization of material management on the collaborative efficiency of construction enterprises. It involves extracting and analyzing actual construction project data, explaining the source selection of data samples, defines the variables from three dimensions: dependent variables, independent variables, and control variables, and conducting descriptive analysis of the main variables related to material management. In the chapter 4, the OLS regression method is used to analyze the revenue effect of seven key control measures of material management based on the train data, and on this basis, the heterogeneity and robustness analyses are conducted to comprehensively measure the enterprise cost-effectiveness generated by different management methods in material digitalization. Chapter 5 analyzes the bilateral complementarity among various control measures, followed by heterogeneity and robustness analyses. It proposes practical suggestions for the construction industry to reduce management burdens and enhance project benefits. Chapter 6 analyzes the complementarity of the key control measures and digitalization degree of each material management based on the train data and analyzes the heterogeneity and robustness in this context and puts forward practical suggestions for management solutions for different enterprise types at various stages of digital transformation. Chapter 7 summarizes the main research content and results of the paper.
