| Issue Date | 7-Feb-2024 |
| Abstract | The growth of the aging population worldwide and the concurrent rise of dementia rates associated with advanced age have raised concerns about recovering, maintaining, and/or improving cognitive function, including linguistic abilities. Telepractice has emerged as a feasible alternative to facilitate the access of older adults to rehabilitation and prevention services. This chapter provides an overview of the recent research advances in telepractice for stimulation, training, and rehabilitation of language and communication, focusing on discourse production. Furthermore, it presents the methodological features used to conduct research in this field. This is intended to provide theoretical and methodological support to researchers, students, caregivers, and healthcare professionals across diverse fields focused on aging cognition and the application of telepractice. |
