| Abstract | Additionally efficient passive mode-locking of bulk Nd:glass lasers was demonstrated by means of Additive Pulse Mode-Locking (APM). In our experiments these lasers are pumped by a Krypton laser or a 150 m W laser dioxide. The best performance in a low-gain APM system is achieved with a dispersively balanced Michelson interferometer. In this APM laser the Kerr-nonlinearity of optical fibers is utilized for mode locking. The usefulness of these techniques is demonstrated by the generation of sub-100-fsec pulses in bulk Nd: fiber lasers. |
