AbstractThe discharge of submarine groundwater is significant to marine environment (ecosystem), including discharging nutrients, pollutants and fresh water. This project investigates the anthropogenic activities and climate changes on SGD in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is absolutely an internationalized city with large population and rapid urbanization. The objective of the study was to stress the importance of coastal management and continuous monitoring, which can cope with the complex interplay of human activities and climate change on SGD. Secondly, the data is mainly from WSD, CEDD, HKO and EPO. By searching on WSD, changes in the quantity of water stored and discharged in reservoir can be obtained. What’s more, the CEDD can provide the wave information. Besides, HKO provides the data that focusing on tidal information. As for EPO, the necessary data is the river Water Quality Data. The data will be presented in the form of tables, line graphs, and pictures with illustrations. The purpose is to ensure the accuracy, referability and consistency of this project. The data has been explained in relation to the analyzing model for the submarine groundwater discharge. The relevant chemical transfer to the ocean is also explained by L Li et al. [1999]. Moreover, it is also connected to a conceptual model that systematically show the mechanism of beach aquifers on coastal water animal pollution. And that is under the pressure of extreme weather by K.H. Cheng et al. [2023]. Detailed analysis will be mentioned in the discussion part.
