Abstract | WebCT is a web-based courseware tool software that has been widely used in universities in the world. Most universities in Hong Kong are also using it as the platform for supporting web-based courses. At the University of Hong Kong (HKU), the Computer Centre has provided this software since 1997 as a central facility for supporting web-based teaching and learning. More than 500 web-based courses are now mounted on HKU's WebCT platform.
The latest version of WebCT aims at improving the ease of use of the software while maintaining the rich set of features for web-based teaching and learning. In this seminar, Dr. Bo Lou who is the Senior Consultant of WebCT will discuss the latest features of WebCT. It will be followed by a brief presentation by
Ms Fanny Chau on the WebCT support and services provided by the HKU Computer Centre. |
Description | Before joining WebCT in March, 2000, Dr. Bo Lou was Professor of Physics for over ten years at Ferris State University, where he also served as NT and Linux system administrator, WebCT administrator, trainer, consultant, instructional designer, and course designer.
Received Bachelors and Masters degrees in Optical Engineering, Dr. Lou obtained his Ph.D. degree in Physics from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
