AbstractUsing the generalized Peierls-Nabarro model, the interaction between a model III crack tip and three-fold dissociated screw dislocation is addressed. It is assumed that the entire content of the dislocation emerge from the crack-tip in a fashion similar to what has been considered previously. It is shown that when the dislocation is situated at a distance comparable to its core size from the crack tip, the image effects of the crack modify the core configuration, and the mobility of the dislocation is greatly affected.
