Optimistic orientation, social service utilization and social integration: an exploratory study of new immigrants in Hong Kong

Abstract

This article is based on a survey in 285 of new immigrants in Hong Kong, and found that optimistic orientation and social service utilization are two key factors in facilitating social integration. Those immigrants which have higher optimistic orientation and higher utilization of social services are better integrated into the mainstream society. Policy and service suggestions are provided.

本文基于对285名香港新移民的调查发现乐观取向、社会服务的使用是影响社会融合的重要因素,高乐观取向、更多使用社会服务的新移民社会融合程度更高。论文提出了相应的政策和服务建议。
