AbstractThe simulations of Matyushov and Ladanyi of the solvent-solute distribution functions of hard sphere mixtures at low concentrations of the large spheres are extended to large solute diameters (4 ≤ d22/d11 ≤ 20) and are compared with the formula of Henderson and Chan and the extension to mixtures of the well known Boublik-Mansoori-Carnahan-Starling-Leland (BMCSL) formula. Contrary to a recent study, the Henderson-Chan formula is found to be accurate and an improvement to the BMCSL formula. © 1999 Taylor & Francis Ltd.
