Abstract | The laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectrum of FeC in the near infrared region between 720-830 nm has been recorded and analyzed. Twelve electronic transitions have been observed. Transition from the X 3Δ 1 level was obtained for the first time, which allows the estimation of the spin-orbit coupling constant of the ground state. The spin-orbit separation between the X 3Δ 2 and the X 3Δ 3 states was measured to be 329.809cm -1. Hot band transitions from v=1 level of X 3Δ state have also been observed, and the vibrational separation, ΔG 1/2, of the X 3Δ 3 state was measured to be 852.14cm -1. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. |
