AbstractA matrix perturbation technique is presented for the dynamic reanalysis of damped gyroscopic systems. Complex eigenvalues and the corresponding left and right eigenvectors were determined. Singular-value decomposition procedure for a complex matrix was performed to obtain the higher order perturbations of eigensolutions. The perturbed eigensolutions obtained were found to be very close to the exact solutions.
