AbstractMixed B-spline functions are constructed for any given boundary conditions. These functions are linearly independent. A general theorem for constructing a mixed B-spline is proposed in this paper. In this method, there is only one unknown coefficient at the end, rendering it very convenient for application in numerical analysis. The method is demonstrated by a beam example.
