AbstractExperimental tests were carried out on a series of ferroelectric specimens (PZT-5) with cracks of different inclined angles, subjected to alternate electric fields. The cracks were found to deviate from their original plane for all inclined angles. The dominant factor of electric fatigue was found to be the ratio of the applied electric field to the coercive field. © 2003 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
