AbstractCommunity-based intervention of young offenders has been highly favoured in recent decades. This paper presents a recent qualitative study on the effectiveness of such a service project in Hong Kong. This Project has employed the Social Bond Theory of Hirschi (1969) as its conceptual framework. The findings of the study confirmed the effectiveness of using a community-based approach to work with young offenders and support its employment. Based on the findings, some service implications are discussed.
