Abstract | Neutropaenic colitis associated with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is generally reported after intensive chemotherapy usually in relation to induction, consolidation or megatherapy for bone marrow transplantation. Due to the high mortality, recurrent attacks were seldom reported. A case of recurrent attacks of neutropaenic colitis is reported in an infant girl with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia during maintenance chemotherapy. Rapid diagnosis was facilitated by abnormal ultrasonographic findings. With appropriate medical treatment, she recovered without complication and remained disease free for 12 months after stopping cytotoxic treatment. |
