| Abstract | This short paper offers an impression of the state of the art in diachronic construction grammar research (section 1) and then considers the question of what kind of work on grammaticalization can be considered to be“diachronic construction grammatical” in nature (section 2). It is an only slightly modified version of the first (theoretical) part of a paper delivered at the 4th International Seminar of the research group “Discurso & Gramática”, held at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte in November 2012. |
