AbstractWe report on a multi-wavelength study of images in the mid-infrared (MIR), Hα and radio continuum of an unusual H II region, G308.70 + 0.60. Using images from the Midcourse Space Experiment (MSX) between 8.3 and 21.3 μm, from the AAO/UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST) deep, high-resolution, Hα survey of the plane, and from the Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope (MOST) Galactic plane survey in the radio continuum at 843 MHz, we have investigated the morphology of the nebula and propose that there is an interaction between the interstellar medium and a star lying inside the large nebular bubble. Secondary star formation appears to have occurred in several places on the dense rim of the bubble. In one such site, this has resulted in a luminous MIR double star, situated within the rim of the nebular ring, that has created its own local bubble.
