Abstract | Lewis acid-base reactions between Pt2(mu-S)2(PPh3)4 (1) and GaCl3 and InCl3 give [(PPh3)4Pt2(mu3-S)2-[GaCl2][GaCl4] (2) and (PPh3)4Pt2(mu3-S)2InCl3 (3), respectively. The cation-anion pair 2 forms as a result of chloride transfer whereas 3 is a 1/1 adduct complex. Compound 3 (illustration) represents the first square-based pyramidal structure of a 5-coordinated adduct of InX3. |
