Abstract | Hong Kong has been a preferred place for many enterprises seeking IPO in the recent past. With the Belt and Road initiative, there will be more enterprises from the mainland China and Belt and Road countries seeking IPO in HK and, with that, the opportunity for HK to influence the development of corporate governance standards in the mainland and the belt and road countries. However, to capture this opportunity, HK needs to further improve its corporate governance standards. This talk will highlight some of the tasks ahead. |
