Abstract1. Concern about adverse effects is the most important barrier to human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination. 2. Vaccination strategies should focus on knowledge exchange and education on the safety and benefits versus risk to improve vaccination uptake. 3. Demand for HPV vaccines is high as indicated by the maximum willingness to pay. However, the willingness to pay for current vaccines is lower than the current market price. 4. Subsidy or co-payment from the government should be considered to meet demand for HPV vaccination.
