AbstractPraised as the widely recognized chief translator of modern and contemporary Chinese literature by C.T.Hsia, Howard Goldblatt is renowned for his achievements in translating Chinese literary novels. A considerable amount of studies and debates on his translation make certain contributions as the urgency for the going out of Chinese literature has been growing. Although Chinese literature has been exported around the world, there are still some problems. Based on the existing essays and papers on Howard Goldblatt and his translations, this paper tries to explore rules behind his translation and seeks to bring inspiration to the following studies.
