Abstract | We use Hong Kong data to test whether people are willing to pay a premium for green buildings without the constraints of a company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The results suggest that people are a higher for buildings with green labels ceteris paribus, which suggest that CSR is not necessarily a precondition for a price or rent premium to exist in green buildings. In addition, we also find that the green building premium is higher for higher income households, which supports the affluence hypothesis at the household level. |
